There are very few things I like in life as much as traveling. One of them is sharing my experiences with others through the photographs I capture during my adventures. Immersing myself in other cultures, observing life at its best and sometimes its worst, admiring natural and artificial wonders of the world, and chasing that fleeting moment of inspiration, has helped me understand how vast, beautiful, untamed, and still truly unexplored the world around us is.
My widely varying career interests had little to do with photography at first. Originally trained as an economist and a political scientist and presently working as a statistical analyst I always felt drawn to exploration. I found more and more that numbers, charts, and political models make a poor substitute for seeing those far off places first-hand. For my grad school I have left Ukraine to study in United States, where I have embarked on many trips around the country. I used my camera to preserve the memories of those care-free journeys. My desire to capture the spirit and the mood of the places I visited prompted me to complete the School of Photography in Kiev.
Through my photography I seek to document my personal experiences, to share the wonderment and excitement I feel when visiting a new place. My friends and traveling companions often joke that I spend most of the time looking on the world through the lens of my camera. But I find it hard to forgo an opportunity to capture every moment of beauty and diversity that surrounds us. While it is impossible to visit every little corner of our splendid planet, I hope that my work will inspire others to explore life, share it with the rest of humanity, and bring all of us a little closer together.
